Traveling for hours to get to our hunting location just didn't make sense to me. It seemed like we spent more time in our vehicles then in the field. However, there was no alternative until one of my buddies discovered the plans for Camp Comfort. We purchased the plans, built the camp and the next year I was in paradise minutes away from my stand. I was setup ready to go. As I sat their in the silence, I could hear the diesels coming over the hill and see the lights from the trucks in the skyline. Receiving an invitation from some of my friends to go hunting with this other group of hunters, who had this portable camp, to say in the least was intriguing. Working in the construction business and having to look at structural designs all day, I was curious as to how they would attain this feat. Keeping the camp portable enough to travel yet strong enough to with stand the harsh winds of November. Snow, rain, wind, cold and even heat are all elements that have to be considered. To say I was impressed would be an under statement. It was the simplicity yet the thought that was put into the design.
